Within the scope of the Biological Diversity Project attributed to the deceased A. Nihat Gökyiğit, Grandpa Leaf, one of the Founding Honorary Presidents of TEMA Foundation, the "Plant Museum Discovery Event", initiated in collaboration with Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, meets with children. The activities designed for children in the 3rd and 4th grades of primary school aim to introduce the concept of biodiversity to children and enable them to make observations in the garden.

The Plant Museum Discovery Event, aiming to support the educational activities carried out in classroom setting, is held in the Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden. The Garden was created with the great efforts of A. Nihat Gökyiğit and is an important example of plant biological diversity.

The event starts by telling the founding stories of TEMA Foundation and Nezahat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden, and then continues with the introduction of TEMA Foundation Founding Honorary Presidents A. Nihat Gökyiğit and Hayrettin Karaca. In the educational activities designed, children learn the concept of biodiversity and spend time in the garden, observing the species of different plant collections. During the event, it is aimed that children become aware of the diversity around them, have a pleasant time while learning through games, and develop awareness of concepts such as plant museum, botany and endemic species.

Following the first events held in March, the two organizations aim to strengthen and continue this collaboration throughout April and May to keep the legacy of the Founding Honorary Presidents alive and meet more children.

In the spring and autumn periods of 2024, children will continue their fascinating journey of the plant world with events to be held on Wednesdays and Fridays between 10.00-11.30 and 13.00-14.30.
