Artist Buray, who has been a TEMA Foundation volunteer for many years, attended the Field Coordination Meeting held by the Foundation in İstanbul. The artist, who was presented with a plaque for his contributions to the work of TEMA Foundation, stated that he believes in the power of volunteering and that he is hopeful for the future, and said, "I believe that we will continue to develop green areas and raise hope for the future."

TEMA Foundation Field Coordination Meeting started in İstanbul with the concept of "TEMA Foundation is 30 Years Old"

Approximately 400 people from 64 provinces, including Provincial Representatives, District/Neighbourhood Representatives, Young TEMA Presidents, headquarters staff and TEMA Foundation Board Members, attended the meeting, which started with the commemoration of TEMA Foundation Founding Honorary Presidents, the deceased Mr. Hayrettin Karaca and the deceased Mr. Ali Nihat Gökyiğit.

Artist Buray participated in the first day of the Field Coordination Meeting. Buray himself is a volunteer of the TEMA Foundation for long years, and he has been supporting the activities of the Foundation.

“I believe that raising awareness in society is the duty of all artists.”

Buray, who started his speech at the meeting with the words "It is an honour for me to share the same place with such beautiful people", emphasised that artists have an important place in raising awareness in society and said, "I believe that we are special loving people who protect and care for the world, take care of green and sustainability, and take care of the world. We all work to raise social awareness, but I believe that we, as artists, have different responsibilities. Scientists prepare reports, tables and figures. All these studies are very valuable and inform people, of course, but they may not touch people's hearts. This is where we, as artists, need to step in and touch people's hearts with poetry, music, cinema, in short, art. I believe this is the duty of all artists."

Stating that he defines people who are aware of how the future of the world is in danger and who therefore work to protect nature and protect the green as “special people," Buray said he believes in the power of volunteering and added, "We will continue to grow the green and hope for the future by increasing the number of these special people."

A plaque of appreciation from TEMA Foundation to Buray

A plaque of appreciation was presented to the artist by Ms. Deniz Ataç, Chairperson of Board of Directors of the TEMA Foundation and Ms. Başak Yalvaç Özçağdaş, General Manager, for his support and sensitivity to TEMA Foundation's activities and nature.

After the presentation of the plaque, Buray took a group photo with TEMA Foundation volunteers.

Artist Buray wrote and composed the song “Yok mu?” and donated all its rights to TEMA Foundation on the 30th anniversary of the Foundation. The proceeds of the copyright of the work will be transformed into saplings through the Foundation.

The meeting, which aims to contribute to the development of TEMA Foundation Representatives, District and Neighbourhood Representatives and Young TEMA presidents in nature conservation, will continue until August 19.

We are raising hope!                                                                          TEMA Foundation
