TEMA, The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats

The Drought Masters Project, an important step for climate adaptation and sustainability in agriculture, was introduced to the public at a press conference held in Konya. The project, supported by the European Union (EU) and the Republic of Türkiye, aims to transfer centuries-old agricultural knowledge to young farmers by blending it with today's technology.

At the press conference, Ms. Deniz Ataç, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of our Foundation, and Nikolaus Meyer-Landrut, EU Ambassador, came together with experienced farmers. Ataç stated that this project, which plays an important role in Anatolia's fight against drought, will contribute greatly to climate adaptation efforts.

EU Ambassador Meyer-Landrut emphasized that while the agricultural sector is one of the sectors most affected by the climate and needs to adapt, it is also a sector that contributes to climate change and the effects we all feel, and that the project is of critical importance for the sustainability of agriculture.

Within the scope of the project to be finalized by June 2025, interviews with experienced farmers have been completed. Meetings and awareness activities with young farmers will begin next month. At the end of the project, the information compiled will be disseminated through documentaries and online learning platform.

We are raising hope!                                                                          TEMA Foundation
