TEMA, The Turkish Foundation for Combating Soil Erosion, for Reforestation and the Protection of Natural Habitats

As the TEMA Foundation, we called on all political parties to adopt ecology-based approach in politics with the Ecopolitics Document published before the May 14, 2023 elections this year, as it has been before every election for 28 years.

In the Ecopolitics Document, we summarised the environmental policies that we recommend to be implemented in order to protect natural assets, biodiversity and climate, especially the land. In the document in which we examined the current situation within the scope of climate, energy, mining, spatial policies and environmental impact assessment processes, we drew attention to the key problems and presented our solutions.

Providing information about the study, Ms. Deniz Ataç, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the TEMA Foundation, said, “With the Ecopolitics Document we drafted, it is aimed to protect the living life, soil, water, air, pasture, forest assets, protected areas and climate in our country. At the same time, while developing protection, control and holistic approaches to issues that require intervention to nature, we call for ecological policies by considering public and social benefits. We expect politicians to adopt and prioritise our recommendations based on the principle of public interest and scientific facts.”

Saying, "There should be no choice between life and disasters in the 100th anniversary of the Republic," Ms. Ataç said, "We invite all political actors to protect the current and future life rights of all living things, and to politics that focuses on the interest and happiness of the general public. We hope that the TEMA Foundation Ecopolitics Document, which we drafted in the footsteps of our Honorary Presidents, the deceased Mr. Hayrettin Karaca and the deceased Mr. Ali Nihat Gökyiğit, who inspired us in our work, will be adopted by all politicians. As the TEMA Foundation, we would like to state that we are ready to give our best support for the protection of nature.”

We are raising hope!                                                                          TEMA Foundation
