The Mini TEMA Education Program is designed to enable preschool children to spend more time in nature, make observations, explore nature with a sense of curiosity and strengthen their ecological literacy skills. Since 2010, the Mini TEMA Education Program has been implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education and is carried out by volunteer teachers. Mini TEMA Training Program was implemented for three academic years between 2019-2022, with the support of Türkiye İş Bankası.
The program, whose main objective is to raise children's awareness on ecological literacy, is implemented in 81 provinces of Turkey. The program, which offers teachers a total of 72 activity suggestions, 62 face-to-face and 10 online, to be implemented outdoors and in the classroom, supports children to connect with nature.
Thanks to the educational materials prepared in a wide range of subjects such as soil, water assets, biodiversity, ecosystem, weather, observation in nature, sustainable living, and activity instructions under each subject heading, teachers can easily implement the activities prepared in accordance with their annual education programs in their classrooms or outdoors. In addition, a portal covering the Mini TEMA Education Program has been launched for teachers to easily access all educational content. (minik-yavrutema.org)
The Mini TEMA Education Program has reached approximately 25,500 classrooms/teachers and 473,000 children in 81 provinces of Turkey.
